Jairam Thakur, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister met Shri Jai Ram Ramesh, Union Minister for Rural Development at New Delhi today. It was a courtesy call.

Shri Jairam Thakur apprised the Central Minister of various schemes being implemented in the State by Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department. He informed the Minister regarding the construction of Panchayat Ghar being taken up on priority by the State Government. He said that the State Government was providing a sum of Rs. 3.40 lakh for the construction of every Panchayat Ghar. He said that the State Government was striving to provide better facilities at Panchayat Ghars. He urged the Central Minister to provide financial assistance for the construction of Panchayat Ghars.

Shri Thakur apprised the Central Minister regarding the computerization of panchayats in the State. Expressing satisfaction over the same, Shri Jai Ram Ramesh said that broadband facility should be provided to all panchayats so that people get online information regarding various welfare schemes being implemented in the State.

Shri Thakur also detailed about the activities being undertaken under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Scheme. He said that the State Government was ensuring speedy disposal of complaints under the Scheme.

Shri Jai Ram Ramesh assured that the demands raised by the Minister would be considered and all possible help be extended.
