Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda has said that Swami Dayanand was a pioneer of social consciousness who created social awakening and devoted his life for the cause of humanity.
          Mr Hooda was addressing an  international Arya Mahasammelan in New Delhi today. Today was the second day of the Sammelan. Thousands of representatives from different parts of the country and abroad are attended the Sammelan. Delhi Assembly Speaker Dr Yoga Nand Shastri, MP Dr. Ram Prakash, Acharya Baldev, Mahashay Dhram Pal, Prakash Arya, Vinay Arya, Dr. Dharmvir and other dignitaries were also present on this occasion.
              Mr Hooda also stressed on the service of cows and said that very soon a Cow Protection Commission would be constituted in  Haryana.
          Mr Hooda also described Swami Dayanand  as a revolutionary social reformer who  tried to  eradicate social evils prevailing in the society in those days.          Mr Hooda said that Arya Samaj played very important role in generating the feeling  of patriotism in the people. About 80 per cent of leaders, who participated in the freedom movement were inspired by the ideals of Arya Samaj.
          Mr Hooda said, “ I am fortunate that I was born in an Arya Samaji family. In Haryana, my government is implementing a number of schemes for the welfare of different sections of the society, as per the ideals of Swami Dayanand. For education of women, a separate University and a Medical college have been opened for women in Khanpur Kalan, Sonipat”.
               Mr Hooda said that even today there are a number of social evils like female foeticide prevailing in the society. Arya Samaj should work for creating a society free of exploitation.
