Super speciality hospital costing Rs. 150 crore sanctioned for Rewa

Energy, Pubic Relations and Mineral Resources Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla has said that no city can become metropolitan without health facilities. Now, Rewa is going to become a centre of health facilities. Treatment of primary level cancer will be available in coming days at Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Rewa. He informed that apart from it, the state government has also given sanction of Rs. 150 crore super speciality hospital in the city. Shri Shukla was inaugurating a cobalt unit for cancer treatment at Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital at Rewa today.

Shri Shukla said that on completion of these institutions, people of Rewa division, Vindhya region and nearby areas will come here for treatment. Arrangements of treatment will be of global level here. The state government has given preference to run this cobalt unit under public-private partnership (outsourcing). Now, Rs. 7 crore and Rs. 2.50 crore machines available in the hospital will become functional and benefit patients.

MP Shri Janardan Mishra described start of cancer treatment facility as pleasant. He hoped that now, cancer patients of Vindhya regions will not have to go elsewhere for treatment. Zila Panchayat President Sushri Maya Singh said that this is a gift for Rewa and entire Vindhya region.

Dean Dr. M.K. Rathore said that this is a historic moment. New arrangements of cobalt unit will definitely benefit patients. Chairman of Asha Cancer Care Bhopal Shri Virendra Singh informed about the cancer unit. The unit will be run by experts under the guidance of Dr. B. Sanyal.

The Public Relations Minister also inspected radiotherapy machine. Chairman of Asha Cancer Care Bhopal Shri Virendra Singh informed that the machines are ultramodern. Informing about functioning of the machines, he said that these will be highly beneficial for treatment of cancer.

Mayor Shri Shivendra Singh, doctors and local people were present on the occasion.
