Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal today demanded a white paper on fiscal mess created by Congress led UPA Government with Rupee against Dollar breaching the crucial level of Rupees 62. Talking to media persons after administering oaths to 460 Sarpacnhes and 2740 Panches of the district here today, Mr. Badal said that down trend in the economy was of great concern to every citizen as investors have already started fleeing the country. He said that with country facing rating down grade, the record low of Rupee which may touch Rs.65 would have a cascading effect on inflation, further deaccelerating the economic situation of the country. He said that the bankrupt Union Government has lost the faith of people and investors and situation has come to such a point that investors were not even ready to subscribe to the share sale of renowned public sector undertakings at record bottom rates. The Deputy Chief Minister said that with economist turn Prime Minister on the helm of affairs the economic deterioration of country reflects total mismatch in the policies and execution of Union Government.  Lashing at Union Government for stabbing in the back of Aam Aadmi and farmers, Mr. Badal said that linking of petrol and diesel prices was directly aimed at filling the coffers of Multi National Oil Companies with common man facing the brunt of daily price rise and on the contrary if anti-farmer government was not agreeing to the demand of Shiromani Akali Dal to link MSP of Agriculture Produce with Whole Sale Price Index. Rubbishing the propaganda of Punjab Pradesh Congress regarding economic crisis in the state, let Mr. Bajwa explain ‘fiscal mess’ created by Manmohan Singh Government and that slowdown was even impacting the economic scenario of all state.  When asked about Mr. Ajit Singh Shant’s induction in Shiromani Akali Dal, Mr. Badal said that 5-6 more MLAs and ex-MLAs of congress party were waiting patiently to join our Party in next few weeks. He said that he cannot disclose the names and exact number of such leaders and media would get information whenever such development takes place. The Deputy Chief Minister said that the State Government would soon appoint Chairmen of Boards and Corporations as it was giving final touches to the list.  On the question of Sand Mining, Mr. Badal said that Union Government was responsible for artificial scarcity of mining products that was delaying the environment clearance for years to help the mining mafia. He said that whenever Punjab Government takes a decision to e-auction of more mines to ease the supply situation in the state, we get bound by the instructions issued by Union Environment Ministry every second day. Badal said that state government was aware of shortage of teachers in certain schools and Punjab Government has constituted a Teacher Recruitment Board to fill 21000 vacant posts of teachers in the state. He blamed Congress government for creating mess in the education sector by not appointing a single teacher during their five year term whereas SAD-BJP Government recruited more than 1.5 lakh employees including 73000 teachers during last tenure. He said that our recruitment process was totally transparent and merit based.   Announcing a massive irrigation plan for Doaba Region, Mr. Badal said that for the first time after independence the state government has sanctioned Rs. 210 crore to reline Bist Doab Canal, the lifeline of Doaba region. He said that he has also sanctioned 300 more deep tube wells and all these tube wells would be operational within two months. When asked about the issue of IAS Officer Durga Shakti Nagpal, Mr. Badal said that he has come to know about the issue from media reports and he cannot comment on the issue without having complete details. Answering a query on the plight of Punjabi Farmers of Gujarat facing eviction, Mr. Badal said that Shiromani Akali Dal would take up the issue of Gujarat farmers and would also provide them total legal support in their ongoing case in the Apex Court.  Announcing Health Insurance for all citizens of PUnjab, Mr. Badal said that Punjab would be the first state in the country that has announced this scheme. He also announced free health insurance of Rs. 30000 for 30 lakh atta daal families. Mr. Badals said that Health Department was tying up with all hospitals to provide cashless treatment to all citizens. He said that 108 ambulance service was performing outstanding work as it was reaching even remotest villages within 20 minutes and shifting the patients to the nearest hospitals. Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included Mr Surjit Singh Rakhra, Rural Developmant and Panchayats Minister, CPS Chaudhry Nand Lal, MLA Dr Daljit Singh Cheema, Akali Leader  Satinder Kaur Kareeha, Sanjeev Bharadwaj BJP District President.
