Srprise visits would help in maintenance of discipline : Prem Kumar Dhumal

INVC,, Shimla,, Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, today conducted surprise check of Zonal Hospital, Zonal Office of Public Works Department and State Electricity Board before presiding over the Gorkha Welfare Board Meeting. He said that he had found a lots of employees absent from duty and the unhygienic conditions in the office. He said that the use of coal had been banned all-over the state while some of the offices were still using the same which would result into various health hazards. Addressing the senior officers, Chief Minister said that every senior officer needed to visit their offices enroute whenever they proceed on tour. He said that such surprise visits would help in maintenance of discipline and best hygienic conditions to provide workers congenial working atmosphere. He said that additionally the senior officers would be able to acquaint them with various functional problems of the field staff by visiting in person. He said that such visits were necessary to bring about efficiency in the functioning of the administration besides timely disposal of the cases pending with field offices. He said that monitoring and inspection of the field units was also necessary to deliver prompt services to the local people and maintenance of discipline, punctuality at lower level. Prof. Dhumal appealed to the employees to accord top priority to the grievances of the people and make sincere efforts to redress the same wthin fixed time frame. He said that no case should be kept pending without reasons and all disposed off on priority. Smt. Sarveen Chaudhary, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister, Smt. Rajwant Sandhu, Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, Heads of the Department, Deputy Commissioners and senior officers of various departments were present on the occasion.
