Colombo – : That’s wonderful news! Sri Lanka has extended an invitation to the renowned Indian superstar Rajinikanth to visit the country and promote tourism. Dr. D. Venkateswaran, the Deputy High Commissioner of Sri Lanka, personally met Rajinikanth at his residence in Chennai and extended the invitation. The aim is to leverage Rajinikanth’s popularity to boost cinema-inspired tourism, as well as spiritual and wellness tourism in Sri Lanka.

During the meeting, the envoy specifically mentioned the Ramayana Trail as an attraction for Rajinikanth to explore. This trail holds significance in the Hindu epic Ramayana and is located in Sri Lanka. Additionally, Sri Lanka is home to various unique Buddhist sites that could also be of interest to the superstar.

Rajinikanth enjoys an immense following among the Tamil community in Sri Lanka, and his movies are highly popular among the Sinhalese and other ethnic communities as well. With his involvement in promoting Sri Lankan tourism, it is expected to further strengthen the cultural ties between India and Sri Lanka and attract more visitors to the island nation.
