Sonia Gandhi is coming not only Jaipur but the whole state will get benefit of her visit : Ashok Gehlot



Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot visited Madrampura area on Wednesday morning and took stock of the situation. Shri Gehlot interacted with people affected by the recent heavy rainfall and assured that the state government is with them during this time of natural calamity.

Shri Gehlot reached relief camp situated at Muhana Mandi and listened to the affected people living in the camp. He assured people that after having discussion with officials of JDA, JMC, District Administration, local public representatives and affected people consideration would be made over how affected people could be settled so that they do not face such problem in the future.

During interaction with the Chief Minister affected families informed that they were being provided food, drinking water, medical and other facilities at relief camp and they were satisfied with the relief works being carried out.

Shri Gehlot said natural calamities like drought, flood and heavy rainfall affect life of people. He said the state government has taken proper steps at right time and has left no stone unturned for the relief works after the recent heavy rainfall. He said the next keen of the people who have lost their lives in heavy rainfall related incidents have been provided ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh by the state government.

The Chief Minister also interacted with the army personnel helping in relief works and admired their efforts.

During interaction with the people of affected area Shri Gehlot said UPA Chairperson Smt. Sonia Gandhi is coming to visit the area on Thursday and not only Jaipur but the whole state will get benefit of her visit.

Shri Gehlot was apprised by Jaipur collector Shri Naveen Mahajan about the relief works being taken up and the arrangements at relief camp. He informed that water has been pumped out in basti and around 800 people are staying at the relief camp.

Jaipur MP Shri Mahesh Joshi, Chairperson of the State Public Grievances and Redressal Commitee Shri Mumtaz Masih, MLA Smt. Ganga Devi, Jaipur Mayor Smt. Jyoti Khandelwal, DGP Shri Harish Meena, Principal Secretary UDH Shri G. S. Sandhu, Principal Secretary to CM Shri Shreemat Pandey, Principal Secretary PWD Shri J. C. Mohanti, Jaipur Development Commissioner Shri Kuldeep Ranka and other officials were present during the visit.
