Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, has appealed to the people of the State and others visiting Himachal Pradesh facing any law and order related problem to SMS at toll free number 9459100100 so as to send an alert to the State Police, any time in twenty four hours. He was reviewing the law and order position of the State in a high level meeting held here under his Chairmanship, today.
Chief Minister said that Himachal Pradesh was popularly known as the ‘Dev Bhoomi’ where the people have immense faith in the devotional powers resulting into low crime rate and law and order problems. He said that majority of the law and order problems were being caused by the migrants and other anti-social elements hailing to different states and visiting Himachal Pradesh for one reason or the other. He said that although strict vigil was being kept over such elements but some of them had been escaping scot free. He appealed to the awakened society of the State to bring such elements to the notice of the law and order maintaining authorities by conveniently sending an SMS on the toll free number. He said that correct information about the crime, law and order problem needed to be mentioned in brief so that effective remedial steps were initiated by the appropriate authority to nab the law offenders.
Prof. Dhumal appealed to the people to make Himachal Pradesh a ‘Dev Bhoomi’ in real sense by checking all illegal and anti-social activities. He said that the State Police had been on high alert round the clock to keep strict vigil over the anti-social elements and others involved in unlawful activities, where proactive cooperation of the society was necessary. He appealed to the people not to send hoax messages but the genuine one so that immediate action could be taken against the offenders and labour of the law and order maintaining agencies was not wasted. He reiterated the resolve of the State Government to make sincere efforts to protect life and property of every law abiding citizen and maintain best of the law and order conditions throughout the State.
