Recognizing the efforts made for timely compliance to commercial obligations by power utilities towards 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro-Power Station, Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (SJVN) has taken the lead in the country by giving a rebate of Rs.21.67 crore. The top order honor was bagged by the Govt. of Himachal Pradesh for the highest value of rebate during the year 2009-10 which amounted to Rs.8.21 crore i.e. 1.95%. Among the top three beneficiaries besides Govt. of HP are PSPCL Rs.3.99 crore (1.79%) and UPPCL Rs.2.48 crore (1.09%). The honor certificates were presented by Shri H.K. Sharma, CMD, Shri R.P. Singh, Director (Elect.) and Shri R.N. Misra, Director (Civil) of SJVN Limited. The honor was accorded to the top 10 beneficiaries of the Power Station at the 16th Commercial Sub-committee meeting of the Northern Region Power Committee (NRPC) held at Kandaghat, this week.
All the constituents of the northern region viz. Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh besides NTPC, NHPC, THDC, Power Grid and BSES had participated in this meeting. Various commercial issues were discussed and resolved during the meeting specially the need for opening of LC’s (Letter of Credit) for ensuring timely payment of UI charges under the new UI regulations.
SJVN has introduced the scheme of issuing appreciation certificates to the beneficiaries of its Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station. The Northern Region Power Committee (NRPC) and Northern Regional Load Dispatch Centre (NRLDC) were also honored by Shri H.K. Sharma, CMD, SJVN Ltd. for promptness and coordination to commercial obligations for its Power Station. Shri A.K. Agarwal, Member Secretary, NRPC welcomed the leading step by SJVN for pioneering the scheme of honoring the constituent members.
