Shri Salman Khurshid, Minister for Minority Affairs, today laid the Foundation Stone of an Industrial Training Institute (ITI), at Lilong, Thoubal District, Manipur in the presence of the Chief Minister of the state. Thoubal is one of the six Minority Concentration Districts ( MCDs ) of Manipur, where the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs is running the Multi-sectoral Development Programme ( MsDP ). District Plans of all these six MCDs have already been approved by the Ministry. Under this, projects amounting to over Rs. 114.14 crore have got the sanction from the Ministry, whereas more than Rs. 4.64 crore is still available as balance amount under MsDP.
ITI at Lilong has been approved for Rs 7.91 crore under MsDP . Half of the approved amount for this ITI has already been released as the first instalment to Manipur Government for the project.
