New Delhi. Shri D. Napolean, Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment will preside over an awareness event with various activities at Gandhi Darshan, Raj Ghat tomorrow on the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
Dr. Kiran Walia, Minister of Health, Women & Child Development, Government of Delhi will also grace the occasion and inaugurate the campaign by flagging off the Run.
To increase awareness among one and all 2500 persons from NGOs, Defence, Police Forces, BSF, ITBP, Indian Coastal Guard, NCC Cadets, Scouts, Art Students, recovered addicts will participate in the event. Mass run and symbolic walk along with yoga, martial art, poster competition, dance, counseling and e-Expo on drug de-addiction will be organized to convey message on Drug Abuse Prevention. The focus is on “ Illicit Drug Abuse Control”. Slogan is – “ Your Life. Your community. No place for drugs.”There will be an interesting thematic cultural show by Song & Drama division followed by a slogan march after 3 KM run.
This is the 7th year of the Mass Awareness Campaign on the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking organised by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and National Institute of Social Defence. Narocotics Control Bureau, Govt. of India is official Partner for last three years.
The Campaign will send a message of positive health, fitness, well being and encourage participants to adopt a healthy lifestyle and build a safe secure Drug free environment. It will also encourage the unfortunate victims of substance use and send a message of hopeShri D.
