Shining singing star – Kshitij Tarey

Singer Kshitij Tarey’s first album “Ae Dosheeza” is about to release. It maybe his first but he has sung many famous songs among which, the most recent one is “Aye Khuda” from  ‘Murder – 2’ that the listeners still hum to the tune of.

 Kshitij has sung “Tose naina”, ”Maula mere Maula” (Anwar), “Madno”, “Zameeno Aasman” (Lamha), ”Dhol yaara dhol” (Dev D) and many more songs including those of ‘Dus Kahaniyaan’, ‘The Train’, ‘Agar’ and ‘One two three’.

 Kshitij who was passionate about music since childhood, learned Indian classical music, ghazal, folk from Kota’s Pandit Mahesh Chandra, from Kota’s itself, Ustaad Sadik Hussain Qureshi, Mohan Sharma [Mewati gharana], Pandit Bhavdeep Jaipurwale [Kunwar Shyam Goswami gharana] in Mumbai. Besides from these gurus, he has also learned western music from Professor Roderigue S Plamthey.

 Kshitij, an M.A and Sangeet Visharad from music, when asked about how did he get his first break in singing in films, said, ”I was performing in a program in Rajasthan where famous lyricist Saeed Quadri  was also present. He heard my voice and asked me to come to Mumbai.”

 Kshitij got his first break and his first song was “Tose naina laage” from the movie Anwar which was a hit. From then, all the songs that Kshitij sung were highly appreciated.   Kshitij who’s given many hits in such a short time, when asked that whenever he has sung for actor Emraan Hashmi, the song becomes a sensation, does this hold a particular reason, he said, ”It’s really a coincidence that all my songs which are based on Emraan are appreciated more by the listeners.”

Besides singing for Marathi films like ” Iraada Pakka ”, ‘’Maanya’’ and Marathi serials like ” Raashi Bhavishya’ ” and ” Antarpaat’ ”, Kshitij has also sung for products like Moov, HP, Sunlight, Action Shoes, Bournvita, Taaza Tea, BSNL, Monte Carlo, Society Tea, etc..

 Kshitij has worked with music director and singer Mithoon in an album. Also, in an album by Venus, an album by Sony BMG, an international album released by Sony BMG  called “Outlandish”, etc..

   Kshitij’s forthcoming films as a singer are “Ali Baug”, ”Will you marry me” [Hindi], ”Naad”, ”Daah” and ” Be Lagaam’” [Marathi]. His forthcoming albums are “Rang” [Hindi], ”Hindi Remixes” [Taal music], etc..
