The World At War is a critically acclaimed documentary series that gives you a complete insight on World War II. The film very well captures the essence of war to its causes and the Cold War that evolved out of its conclusion. It has the rare footages of the videos of the era and is also helpful for kids to learn about the history.

Shemaroo Entertainment releases The World At War on DVDs. The documentary series was actually made for television and got on 31st October 1973 when memories of the Second World War were still clear in people’s minds and the war’s veterans numerous. This unique television series was able to assemble these recollections, together with archive footage into one of the most powerful and successful historical documentaries ever seen. The voices of those that fought, worked or watched during the Second World War gave each episode a vivid sense of what it was like to be there and was the hallmark of the series. The documentary series also has Special Episodes on Adolf Hitler.

The World at War Series has also won Technical Craft Award (TV) – Alan Afriat (supervising film editor) and got nominated for Best Factual Program – Michael Darlow For episode ‘Genocide’, Best Factual Series – Jeremy Isaacs For episodes 9 – 26 and Best Factual Series – Jeremy Isaacs For episodes 1-8.
