Security issues of Information Technology discussed in international conference IISC-2017 at Amity University Lucknow campus

Spreading the awareness regarding security of information and related tools Amity Institute of Information Technology (AIIT), Amity University Lucknow Campus organized two day International Information Security Conference in collaboration with Hackers Day, Lucknow chapter. Chief Guest Rajendra Kumar Tiwari, Additional Chief Secretary, UP and Guest of Honour  Dr. Saurabh Gupta, State Informatics Officer UP, Ministry of Electronics & Communication Technology, NIC  inaugurated the conference by lighting the lamp. Pro VC Amity University Lucknow Campus Maj. Gen. KK Ohri (AVSM) Retd., Chairman Hacker’s day Mr. Nitin Pandey and Director MIR lab, Gwalior, Dr. G.S.Tomar were also present on the occasion. Chief Guest Dr. R. K. Tiwari on his address emphasized how smart phone in hand have changed the life of individual and is playing an important role as economy changer. He quoted how Yahoo faced more than billion attacks in 2014 and was not aware of this attack for almost a year. Banking system in India has been attacked successfully many times. He also emphasized how US President election was affected by USSR. This all is an example of hacking. He focused on the budget by UP govt. for Cyber Security. At the end he emphasized how Indian talent with IT can realized India transformed. Dr. Saurabh Gupta on his address emphasized on various scheme for the poor and girls to prevent various attacks leading to their societal upliftment in the society. He emphasized that NIC is lucky to prevent through the tools developed at their end from all the attacks made on the NIC websites. On his keynote address Dr. G.S. Tomar emphasized on how academia and industry can work together in bringing and meeting the ROI (return on investment). He said MIR lab can help in coordinating such activity. Dr. Amar Prasad Reddy (Director–General, National Cyber Safety and Security Standards) on his technical talk emphasized to consult and request governor UP to establish a Cyber Security identity to meet digital India ambassador demand and hackers will help in establishing such a cell. Mr. Anuj agarwal (Chairman of Centre for Research on Cyber Crime & Cyber Law) on his technical talk highlighted how due to availability of data the E – Commerce companies like flipkart & Amazon are selling items on cheaper rates. Dr. Rakshit Tandon (Director A & R info Security Solutions Pvt. Ltd.) emphasized on secured coding and safer digital India. He emphasized that 50 % crime is for the financial gain and 50 % for society related issues leading to events like break ups. Mr. Rizwan Shaikh (CTO and Founder of Pristine info solutions) delivered on the process on cracking passwords using brute force attack. He emphasized that passwords should be kept long and should be changed very frequently. Mr. Nipun Jaiswal (Infosec author and a passionate cyber security researcher) demonstrated breaking myths in wireless forensic. He emphasized why wireless research should be given more attention to avoid unethical hacking. The conference shall continue tomorrow and talks by International guest like Ms. Elena Feldman (Senior trainer in network security and advance networking head of CSIRT) will be delivered.
