The Ministry of Corporate Affairs had released two important documents during the India Corporate Week in December 2009 : Corporate Governance Voluntary Guidelines 2009; and Corporate Social Responsibility Voluntary Guidelines 2009. These documents seek to enhance accountability and responsibility of Indian companies, through voluntary uptake by businesses. The release of the two guidelines is indeed a step forward in providing policy direction to Indian companies on issues of responsibility and accountability.
It is in this context that to support the efforts of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs on the two voluntary guidelines, the CII-ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development is organizing the National Conference on Inclusive & Responsible: The Next Face of India Inc.’
