Safety of women cannot be expected from those who respect rapists: Rahul Gandhi
Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi indirectly targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the alleged murder of two sisters in UP’s Lakhimpur-Kheeri district.
He said that women safety cannot be expected from those who get the rapists released and respect them.
Rahul tweeted, “The murder of two minor Dalit sisters in Lakhimpur in broad daylight after their kidnapping is a very disturbing incident. Without naming the BJP, he hit out at it and said, “Women’s safety cannot even be expected from those who get the rapists released and respect them.” We have to create a safe environment in the country for our sisters and girls.
In Lakhimpur-Kheeri, the bodies of two sisters belonging to the Dalit community were found hanging from a tree. The family members allege that both the girls were abducted. PLC/GT
