The Department of Tourism, Chandigarh Administration and CITCO organized Run for Tourism as a part of World Tourism Week Celebrations here today. The second day marked with fun and folic with massive participation for Tourism walk by the city dwellers , students and visitors .
Sh.K.K.Sharma, Adviser to Administrator flagged off the Run for Tourism Walk in the presence of Secretary Tourism Sh.D.K.Tiwari, Director Tourism Ms.Tanvi Garg and other senior officials of Chandigarh Administration. The Run for tourism started off from Open Hand Monument signifying the architectural importance of Capitol Complex in the city planning .The walkers passed through Bougainvillea Garden, Leisure Valley and finally culminated at Govt. Museum and Art Gallery Sector 10 Chandigarh.
Around 800 students of schools, colleges, Institutes of Hotel Management alongwith prominent persons besides officials of the Tourism and Education Department took part in the Run for Tourism highlighting the importance of Tourism as an Industry giving multiplier effect to economy of the country. On 26th September, Tourism Quiz shall be organized at 2 pm in Auditorium at Museum & Art Gallery, Sector-10 with the participation of school children across the tricity.
