So finally, after what some deem to be a sabbatical (which in reality was a hectic concert tour of India and the world, catering to the insatiable appetites of their fans), A Band Of Boys is back all geared up as Music Composers and Singers with a foot tapping, hip twisting, head shaking song – ‘Aao saaf karein’ – for the movie “Sadda Adda”, a film about a couple of young boys and the crazy times they have in their insane Adda!
Thus far the journey for A Band Of Boys has been – from an Indipop launch to being Music Composers to starring in a Bollywood film to composing music for a Hollywood film and finally coming home to Bollywood again! This time attacking a genre of music that reflects their energy and zest for life – Rock and Roll!
Talking about why A Band Of Boys, the director of Sadda Adda, Mauzzam explains, “Given their fantastic energy, enormous song hits given and unbelievable youth connect, the choice was obvious! We wanted a rock and roll, masti bhara track and they took it to a different level all together!”
On the Band of Boys’s experience working with first time director, they say, “It was great to work with someone who knows exactly what he wants… Because we don’t!” they laugh back. “We have so much fun making music that sometimes it’s good to have someone whip you back on track and that’s what Mauzzam did!”
Giving a peek on the final outcome of the effort put together it turns out to be “A mad rock’n’roll song!!” they yell back and then as an afterthought add “Statutory warning – Listen only if you want to feel youthful again or twist uncontrollably!”
Looks like this is gonna be another safa-saf hit from the ABOB stable and we wish them all the very best!
