Ambassador of Denmark in India Shri Freddy Svane met Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot here at Chief Minister’s official residence on Thursday.

During his discussion with Chief Minister Shri Svane said Rajasthan can take advantage of the technical expertise of Denmark in the area sewerage water treatment, drinking water distribution system and green building construction. He offered cooperation from the Denmark in these sectors.

The Danish Ambassador had all praise for the various projects of the State Government taken up for expansion of basic infrastructure in Jaipur city. He informed the Chief Minister that he had visited Jaipur Metro site, Ghat Ki Ghooni Tunnel Project site, Affordable Housing Project site on Ajmer road and Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) at Delavas.

Shri Svane said he was much impressed with the policies and the programmes of the State Government based on welfare of the poor people. He said various companies of Denmark are working in Rajasthan including Danish company D.H.I. 222 which is working on identifying problems being faced by the drinking water distribution system in various cities including 184 urban areas. He had all appreciation for the State Government for providing housing facility to the poor at a very low price under Affordable Housing Scheme.

During his meeting with the Chief Minister the Danish Ambassador invited Shri Gehlot to visit Denmark with delegation as the state guest. Shri Gehlot expressed gratitude for the invitation and informed the Danish Ambassador that to encourage investor in Rajasthan the State Government has started single window scheme. He said Rajasthan has progressive industrial atmosphere and there is no labour unrest in the State. These are the reason that various big national and multi-national companies are being attracted for investment in the State, he added.

The Chief Minister said Sewerage Treatment works in 40 cities of the State are in progress and other cities will also be connected with the water purification technique. He also informed about the initiatives taken by the State Government regarding underground water harvesting and waste water treatment.

Principal Secretary UDH Shri G. S. Sandhu, Commercial Counsellor of Danish Embassy in India Shri Lars Christiansen and Global Mentor of Trade Council Shri Anshul Jain were also present during the meeting.
