Directing officers to deal strictly with the traffic rule breakers and fast riders and drivers, Chief Secretary Raj Bala Verma said that speed of vehicles must be controlled to rein road accidents. She directed to put rumble strip, signage and board on such black spots prone to accidents. She also directed the officers to survey all black spots, photograph them and make work plan to stop accidents.

In order to control road accidents, DPR and three year GR location should be prepared to improve the black spots. PMUs have been formed in every district and a report should be prepared how the PMUs are functioning and being monitored. At the same time, it should be ensured that the PMU team remains in contact with the police stations. She said to prepare a profile of accidents on all the black spots and try to find out the real reason for that. She said to identify those spots as black spots where at least 5 accidents have occurred or at least five people have been killed in the last three years. Black spots should be categorized and work should be done on priority basis on more accident prone zones. If land is required for betterment, it should be done.

Principal Secretary Home Mr. S. K. G. Rahate, DGP Mr. D. K. Pandey, Road Construction Sec Mr. Mastram Meena and other officers were present in the meeting.
