Raipur has the potential of becoming the country’s aviation hub

Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Mr. Bhupesh Baghel today met Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri in New Delhi and requested him to develop “aviation hub” in Raipur. Drawing Union Minister's attention to the demand, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that Raipur has the potential of becoming the country’s aviation hub. It is well-connected from all directions due to its geographical position. He added that at present, 11 cities have direct connectivity to Raipur and 24 flights are operational from the airport daily.

Chief Minister requested that Raipur city should be declared as the “aviation hub” and the Centre should make provision in the budget for the same. Raipur airport, which was recently being modernized, is well-connected with six neighbouring states of Chhattisgarh. Union Minister Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri assured Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh that the Centre will provide all possible assistance to the state. On being asked about flights to be operated from Bilaspur and Jagdalpur, Mr. Puri said that the work is in progress and flights will be operational from Jagdalpur by November-December.

Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Mr. Bhupesh Baghel paid courtesy call on Vice-President of India Mr. M Vainkayya Naidu today in New Delhi. He gifted shawl and bell-metal artifact to Vice-President. During his meeting with Vice-President, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel discussed in detail about the development works being done in Chhattisgarh.  He informed that on upcoming 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on October 2, the scheme of providing free nutritious food everyday in each gram panchayat of the state will be launched state-wide. This step will prove to be a decisive step in eradication of malnutrition and anemia. Mr. Baghel informed in detail about the various development works underway to reform economy and environment via Narva Garva Ghurva Bari scheme in Chhattisgarh. Vice-President appreciated the efforts and initiatives of Chhattisgarh Government.
