Punjab BJP president Shri Kamal Sharma has hailed the Union Railway Budget tabled in the parliament today by Shri Suresh Prabhu. Terming the budget as “visionary”, the BJP state chief said that not only the budget is commuter friendly but also drafted in a manner,which would ensure fast track progress in the railway sector.
In a release issued here today, Shri Sharma said that with increase in the investment flow in the railways, the infrastructural development would get a boost besides increasing the scope for providing more facilities to the passengers. He further said: “By not increasing the railway fare, the Union Railway Minister has given a big relief to the people traveling through trains. The increase in the reservation of the senior citizens is also a welcome step.”
Shri Sharma said that the main highlight of the budget is the introduction of the women helpline number. The BJP president remarked: “The women helpline number would not only lead to reduction in crime at the railway premises and trains but would also ensure the safety of the women”. Shri Sharma pointed out that the announcement of completion of the Jammu-Jalandhar Rail Link by 2017 is a welcome step and would provide immense relief to the pilgrims from Punjab to Mata Vashino Devi shrine.
Shri Sharma also appreciated the announcement of starting four new trains and installation of the CCTV Cameras at the Tatkal Booking Window Counters. Shri Sharma has expressed his gratitude towards the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Railway Minister Shri Suresh Prabhu for bringing in such a good Railway Budget.
