New York – :  Rahul Gandhi, a Congress leader, has expressed his belief that the people of India will defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its ideology. He cited the recent example of the Karnataka assembly elections, where the Congress party achieved victory, and stated that they will also defeat the BJP in upcoming elections in Telangana and other states. Rahul Gandhi emphasized that it is not just the Congress party, but the people of India as a whole who are determined to overcome the hate-filled ideology of the BJP. He claimed that they didn’t just defeat the BJP but completely eliminated them.

During his visit to New York, Rahul Gandhi addressed a community rally at the Javits Center in Manhattan. He highlighted the challenges faced by the Congress party in the Karnataka elections, stating that despite the BJP’s advantages in terms of resources, media support, and government influence, the Congress party emerged victorious. Rahul Gandhi expressed confidence that they would replicate this success in Telangana’s upcoming assembly elections. He also mentioned that elections are scheduled in other states such as Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh.

According to Rahul Gandhi, the reason behind the BJP’s diminishing support is that the people of India have realized the destructive impact of the hate-filled ideology being propagated by the party. He asserted that the same sentiment is prevailing in other states as well, and in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the opposition, including the Congress party, will unite against the BJP. Rahul Gandhi framed the political landscape as an ideological battle, with the BJP representing a divisive and hate-filled ideology, while the Congress party embodies an ideology of inclusiveness, love, and compassion.

During the event, New York City Mayor Eric Adams addressed the audience and emphasized the importance of maintaining one’s Indian identity while assimilating into American society. He acknowledged the contributions of the Indian community both within India and around the world.

Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi engaged in discussions with prominent thinkers in New York at ‘Roosevelt House,’ the former residence of US President Franklin D. Roosevelt. He highlighted the role of overseas Indians in America as ambassadors for India, showcasing the diverse and inclusive values of the country. Rahul Gandhi drew parallels between the ongoing ideological battles in India and the United States, emphasizing the importance of a vision that accepts and respects all individuals regardless of their religion, community, or caste.
