Jharkhand is all set to attract investors from around the globe during the Investor summit in Mumbai. In the process of, realizing his commitment to ensure diversified development of State Chief Minister Mr. Raghubar Das met business tycoons of different industries and assured them of working in tandem with the vision of investor friendly environment.
Today the CM met the business tycoons in Sofitel Hotel in Mumbai. He called upon the industrialists and potential investors to explore opportunities in Jharkhand. “Once the industries start coming and give impetus to the economic activities in the state, overall situation will change including improvement in general law and order as more and more people will find employment opportunity,” he said.
Today , the CM met Tata Group Chairman Mr. Cyrus Mistry and discussed various opportunities Jharkhand Government is offering under his leadership to ensure the state a friendly destination for investors. Mr. Das said that the state government is making efforts to improve the work culture and bring transparency in governance and reduce the paraphernalia associated with starting any operation in the state. He requested Tata Group Chairman to increase investment in steel production & open a research centre in the State. Mr. Mistry replied affirmative and assured that they have planned for 11 million Ton Steel production, Now it is about 10 millon Ton. Mr. Mistry requested CM to help in increasing the capacity of West Bokaro Coal Fields Ltd. the CM agreed to provide all possible administrative support. He said that his Govt. has adopted Single Window System for the speedy clearance.
He added that Security improvement will be prime focus and 300 mobile vans have been put on every 3 Km distance. He said that land procurement will not be an issue for investors.
On taxation, the state has waived off entire VAT for the companies that are setting up plants in Jharkhand. Forest Clearance, Power and Water supply will be at ease.
He had a meeting with top investors like Vedanta, Carnival Group. Inspira Ltd., Quantum Group, Future Group etc. He was accompanied by Chief Secretary Mr. Rajeev Gauba, Principal Secretary to CM Mr. Sanjay Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Uday Pratap Singh, Principal Secretary, Water Resource Mr. Sukhdeo Singh, Principal Secretary, RDD Mr. N.N. Sinha, Principal Secretary, UDD Mr. Arun Kr. Singh, Principal Secretary, Tourism Mr. Avinash Kumar, Secretary to the CM Mr. Sunil Burnwal, Agriculture Special Secretary Mrs. Puja Sighal and IPRD Director Mr Awadesh Pandey.
