A spokesperson of Himachal Pradesh Government said here today that a public holiday has been declared on 4th and 6th January, 2016 instead of 3rd and 5th January in the area where elections to Panchayati Raj Institutions of Development Block Bijhari in Hamirpur District would be held. The spokesperson said that all Government Offices, Boards, Corporations, Educational Institutions and Industrial Establishments in Himachal Pradesh under Disputes Act would remain closed including shops on polling day in areas of these institutions. It would be a paid holiday for daily wages employees and also within the meaning of Section 25 of Negotiable Instrument Act. It has been clarified that a special casual leave would be given to those employees working in different places in the State having the right to vote in Panchayati Raj Institution but the certificate of vote cast issued by concerned Presiding Officer has to be produced.
