Prof. J.C. Anand passed away

Prof. J.C. Anand, who retired from the Department of Political Science, Panjab University, passed away here today after a prolonged illness. He was 94.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs Meenaxi Anand Chaudhry, Mrs Urvashi Gulati and Mrs Keshni Anand Arora. Prof. Anand was a regular columnist of ‘The Tribune’, where he wrote the weekly column, “Market Scan”, for several years. He was also the founder president of the Chandigarh Investors Club.
Prof Anand was extremely popular with his students, many of whom, under his guidance, joined the civil services. Among such students were his daughters, all of whom became IAS officers of the Haryana
cadre. While Mrs Chaudhary and Mrs Gulati retired as Chief Secretary of Haryana, Mrs Arora is still in service. His cremation will take place today at Sector 25 cremation ground
at 12-30 pm.
