Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister today released the inaugural issue of monthly magazine ‘Samangi’ wholly related to women. The magazine is published and edited by women journalists and Ms. Reena Tanta and Ms Sarupama Sharma are the editor and managing editor of the magazine respectively.
Chief Minister expressed hope that magazine would go a long way in empowering women. He said that the State Government had taken various steps for socio-economic upliftment of the women folk and had implemented various schemes for their betterment. He said that Himachal Pradesh was one of the few first State in the Country to reserve 50 percent seats to women in Panchayati Raj Institutions.
