PM Modi to offer prayers with Nepalese Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba at Mahamaya Temple
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to visit Nepal on 16 May. During his brief visit, he will visit Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha.
According to Anil Pariyar, Press Adviser to the Nepalese Prime Minister, Prime Minister Modi is going to visit the Himalayan country at the invitation of his Nepalese counterpart Sher Bahadur Deuba.
Prime Minister Modi will visit Lumbini in western Nepal during his one-hour visit on the occasion of Buddha Purnima, the official said. Let us tell you that Buddha Purnima is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Lord Buddha. He told that this will be the first visit of Prime Minister Modi to Nepal after being elected for the second time in the year 2019.
Nepalese Prime Minister Deuba is also going to attend the event along with PM Modi. Nepalese Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is going to offer prayers at the Mahamaya temple. Apart from this, Buddha is also going to address the memorial ceremony. Lumbini, located in the Rupandehi district of Nepal, is just 15 kilometers away from Sonauli.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will first reach Kushinagar by special plane from New Delhi, then travel by helicopter from Kushinagar to Lumbini and stay in Nepal for about 2 hours. Keep in mind that the Indian Ministry of External Affairs has not yet made an official announcement of Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Nepal.
