Rising inflation and the state of the economy can be discussed in the meeting of Prime Minister Modi’s Council of Ministers!
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a meeting of his Council of Ministers on September 28, sources familiar with the development said, adding that the focus may be on rising inflation and the state of the economy.
Sources said that the emphasis is being given on these topics due to increasing pressure on the government from the opposition parties on the issues of inflation and rising unemployment. Sources said economic growth and fiscal challenges as well as disruptions in global supply chains are likely to be discussed.
There is a possibility that the key economic ministries, mainly finance and commerce, are likely to be given instructions on measures to reduce inflation. The meeting is being held at a time when only 18 months are left for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. PLC/GT
