Perumal Murugan to launch his book ‘Poonachi’ in Delhi

Noted author and poet Perumal Murugan will launch his latest novel ‘Poonachi or The Story of a Black Goat’, translated by N. Kalyan Raman and published by Westland under their new literary imprint, Context — on Friday, 9th March 2018, at India Habitat Centre in Delhi. ‘Poonachi’ is the author’s first work of fiction since the controversy around his book – One Part Woman – in early 2015. The launch will be followed by a discussion on the book, between the author and Elizabeth Kuruvilla, Senior Deputy Editor, The Hindu.

‘Poonachi or the Story of a Black Goat’ is the story of a goat named Poonachi. The book chronicles the goat’s life right from the moment she comes to live with an elderly human couple, who received the goat from a mysterious stranger. The readers will witness Poonachi’s struggles to survive and live to be an adult. The heart-warming tale will leave readers asking for more. So, come and catch the book launch this Friday.
