People of Bihar should elect a state government which was willing to take action against criminals : Rajnath Singh
INVC NEWS Dinara in Bihar, Home Minister and senior BJP leader Shri Rajnath Singh has said that by raising issues like beef eating during election campaign leaders like Shri Lalu Prasad Yadav are diverting people's attention from real issues like development. He was addressing election meetings at Mohania, Karakat, Nabinagar and Dinara in Bihar today. Taking strong exception over the statement made by the RJD leader Shri Singh said, "The elections are like festivals in democracy where all political parties are expected to discuss issues pertaining to development and welfare of the people. Instead of focusing on these issues Shri Lalu Prasad Yadav is making statement on beef eating. He is trying to divert attention from his own failure and the failure of Shri Nitish Kumar led JDU government". Stepping up his attack on RJD-JDU-Congress combine the Hone Minister said that these parties should tell the voters what they had done to develop Bihar. "Laluji should make his stand clear on these issues. I appeal to Shri Nitish Kumar and Congress President Smt. Sonia Gandhi that they should stop their coalition partner from making such remarks during elections. Lauding the role of BSF in checking cattle smuggling on India Bangladesh border Shri Singh said, "There was time when nearly 13 lakh cattle mainly cow and its progeny were smuggled into Bangladesh. Now BSF has reduced those numbers to merely 2 lakh cattle by stepping up vigil at the international borders. I can assure you that we will bring the cattle smuggling to a complete halt." Highlighting the importance of central schemes like Jan Dhan Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, Pradhanmantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojana and Pradhanmantri Durghatna Bima Yojana he said that these schemes were designed to help poor and weaker sections of the society. "The NDA government helps the poor by empowering through its people friendly schemes whereas the Congress and other parties want to make them dependent on government doles", he added. The Home Minister further said, "Unless all the states of India progress India can not be a developed country. Bihar is one of the most backward states of India. The NDA government at the Centre is concerned for the development of Bihar and it has shown its commitment by giving a special package of Rs 1.25 lakh crore to the state. We need a state government which cooperates with the Centre in realising the true potential of Bihar." Underlining the importance of Bihar assembly election campaign Shri Singh said that the NDA was contesting these elections on issues of development and good governance. "Shri Narendra Modi himself is extensively campaigning in Bihar and addressing many rallies in different parts of the state which shows how seriously the Prime Minister taking the development", he said. Expressing concern over the terrible law and order situation in Bihar the Union Home Minister said the people of Bihar should elect a state government which was willing to take action against criminals and other anti social elements. "When a favourable government comes to power in Patna I will ask the Chief Minister to take strong action to improve law and order situation in Bihar. The Centre will provide additional forces, if needed, to the state to maintain law and order Bihar", he added. Shri Singh was accompanied by the Bihar BJP President Shri Mangal Pandey who launched scathing attack on the JDU government for its failure to make Bihar a developed state. He expressed confidence that on November 8 the Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar would be ousted from the office post the assembly election results.
