Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today released a book of stories in Urdu ‘Lahu ki Barish’ penned by an eminent writer and Director, Chandigarh Doordarshan Dr. KK Rattu here at simple but impressive function at Doordarshan Kendra.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Badal said that the literature steers the society in new direction and rich literature was the only identity of any society. The Chief Minister highly appreciated the enormous contribution of Punjabis in enriching the Urdu literature and this piece of literary work by Dr. Rattu in Urdu was a positive step in this direction adding he said art of story writing was a unique characteristic of Urdu literature. Felicitating Dr. Rattu on the release of his new book, the Chief Minister hoped that it would be instrumental in giving a positive direction to the society by making huge contribution in literary field in near future too.
It may be recalled that Dr. Rattu has aptly depicted the tragedy of human relations of Indo-Pak ties in this anthology of stories.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by his Advisor on National Affairs and Media Mr. Harcharan Bains and his Special Principal Secretary Mr. Gaggandip Singh Brar besides the senior functionaries of the Doordarshan Kendra.
