The Minister for Energy Shri Priyavrat Singh informed that one crore 4 lakh 25 thousand 374 consumers have been benefitted under the Indira Grih Jyoti Yojana (IGJY) in the month of December. The number of the consumers, who received the benefit under the scheme from the Purva Kshetra Vidyut Viran Company is 42 lakh 61 thousand 971 in December 2019. Similarly, the number of the beneficiaries, who received benefit under the scheme from Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company and Pashchim Kshetra Vidyut Vitran company is 29 lakh 23 thousand 440 and 32 lakh 39 thousand 963 respectively.
Shri Singh further informed that 93.71 percent consumers under the Purva Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company, 84.52 percent consumers under the Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company and 86.52 percent consumers under the Pashchim Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company have been benefitted under the scheme. The total percentage of all the three power distribution companies is 88.82 percent.
Subsidy of Rs. 374 crore under Indira Grih Jyoti Yojana
Under the Indira Grih Jyoti Yojana, a subsidy of total Rs. 374 crore 10 lakh was given in the month of December itself.Out of this, subsidy of Rs. 130 crore 18 lakh to the consumers of Purva Kshetra, Rs. 121 crore 43 lakh to the consumers of Madhya Kshetra and subsidy of Rs. 122 crore 49 lakh to the consumers of Paschim Kshetra were given.
