A.K. Jha, CMD, NTPC inaugurated Global Energy Technology Summit’ GETS EXPO 2015 by leading technology experts and manufacturers at Power Management Institute, Noida (PMI) on the 8th November , Shri K. K. Sharma, Director ( Operations) and senior officials of NTPC were present. Display of innovative technologies to address climate change concerns was the highlight of the Expo which was part of the second edition of GETS 2015 with the theme: "Clean n Green Energy: The New Normal " in line with India’s Intended Nationally Determined Contribution towards Climate Justice. GETS 2015 was organised to promote power generation technologies for a Greener and Cleaner environment with particular emphasis on Energy- Environment symbiosis. The summit was been designed with theme‐based presentations on topics related to Clean and Efficient Use of Coal, Greening of Coal, Emission Controls and Zero Liquid Discharge to focus on clean power generation from fossil fuels. The aim of the Summit was to give thrust to carbon free and carbon neutral generation, special sessions on solar, hydro, wind, biomass, waste to energy and geothermal power generation technologies are designed to collate technology initiatives from all over the world. Related issues of renewable energy grid integration ,energy storage and agile controls to meet the challenges of intermittent nature of renewable energy supply were deliberated during the summit.
