NTPC to Contribute 13000 MW by XI Plan Period

NTPC has geared itself to become a 75000 MW company by 2017 and the company has core competency to achieve this feat. By the XI Plan period the company aims to put about 13000 MW capacity on stream contributing to the Govt. of India’s plans of adding 68000 MW by that time. This was stated by Shri Arup Roy Choudhury, Chairman and Managing Director, NTPC while addressing the company employees on the 35th anniversary occasion today.

Shri Arup Roy Choudhury further said that NTPC will take tariff based bidding with a competitive spirit. He assured timely implementation of all its construction projects and at the same time called for innovative ideas from the employees towards fuel security.

He reiterated that each and every employee of the company should deliver in their respective areas of work. Shri Roy Choudhury also spoke on aligning individual aspirations with NTPC’s goals and objectives to achieve excellence in area of project and power plant management.

In his speech, the Chairman emphasized on empowering the Business Unit Heads and Regional Unit Heads with more powers. He also called for greater commitment from team NTPC towards the society and adopting the R&R, Corporate Social Responsibility as a Dharma.

On this occasion, CMD also released two books one on “Quality Management in Civil Engineering” and another on “Simulation Manual of 660 MW units based on Super Critical Technology”.
