NTPC Ltd. has been ranked No.1 Independent Power Producer (IPP) in Asia at the prestigious Platts Global 250 Energy Awards.
The company has been ranked No. 10 in overall performance among the energy companies in Asia and No. 52 on overall global performance among energy companies by Platts improving on its last year ranking of 73.
This awards were received at Platts Top 250 Global Company Rankings Award ceremony by Shri N.K.Sharma, Executive Director (Corporate Planning) and Shri A.K. Gupta, General Manager (Business Development)
These rankings are based on four key metrics- asset worth, revenues, profits and return on investment.
NTPC’s current installed capacity of 32,694 MW is nearly 20 percent of the total installed capacity in the country. About 17,000 MW capacity is under construction. NTPC plans to become a 75 GW company by 2017 and 128GW company by the year 2032 with well diversified fuel mix. On technology front NTPC has been adopting the latest power generation technologies and has diversified its business across the energy value chain.
