If you are an educated unemployed youth, then now you do not need to worry about your pocket money because the government has issued a guideline regarding unemployment allowance. 2500 rupees will be given every month.
Government will give Rs 2500 from 1st April 2023
This amount will be available for one year, although it can be extended for one more year. At the same time, only those registered two years ago will be eligible for this allowance. In the hope of this unemployment allowance, more than 4500 unemployed have registered in Kabirdham district within two months. Now 33 thousand 587 unemployed are registered in the district.
What to do to get unemployed allowance
Educated unemployed youths are reaching the employment office for registration. The situation is such that every day around 150 to 200 youths are coming to the employment office for registration. As on January 31, the number of registrations in the entire district was 28 thousand 864. 31059 in the month of February and now it has reached 33 thousand 587 as on March 13. The same young men and women are looking eager to get registered.
This is the criteria to get unemployment allowance
1. Unemployment allowance will be payable for one year to the educated youth eligible for unemployment allowance under this scheme. If the particular person is not able to get gainful employment in the said period of one year, then the period of unemployment allowance can be extended for one more year. This period shall not exceed two years in any case.
2. The applicant should be a native of Chhattisgarh.
3. The age of the applicant should be between 18 to 35 years as on April 01 of the financial year in which the application is made.
4. Applicant should have minimum higher secondary (12th passed) educational qualification from a recognized board.
5. Should be registered in the District Employment and Self-Employment Guidance Center and his employment registration should be at least two years old in higher secondary or above qualification as on 01st April of the year of application.
6. The applicant should not have any source of income and the income of the applicant’s family from all sources should not exceed Rs.2,50,000/- annually. Family means husband wife and dependent children and dependent parents.
Ineligibility conditions for unemployment allowance:
Unemployment allowance will be given to only one person from a family, if unemployment allowance has been approved to any person of a family then the other person will be ineligible.
Such applicant will be ineligible for unemployment allowance if any member of the applicant’s family has a job other than Class IV or Group-D in any institution or local body of the Central or State Government.
If the applicant is offered self-employment or any job in government or private sector, but the applicant does not accept the offer, then such applicant will be ineligible for unemployment allowance.
Family members of former and present ministers, state ministers and former or present members of Parliament or state legislatures, former and present mayors of municipal corporations and former and present chairpersons of district panchayats will be ineligible for unemployment allowance.
Family members of pensioners who receive a monthly pension of Rs 10,000 or more will be ineligible for unemployment allowance.
The members of such families who have paid income tax in the previous assessment year will be ineligible for unemployment allowance.
Other professionals such as engineers, doctors, lawyers, chartered accountants and family members of architects registered with professional bodies will be ineligible for unemployment allowance.
This is a good news for educated unemployed youth, but this is not a permanent solution to the problem of educated unemployed youth, governments should find jobs as well as other employment opportunities, so that the word educated unemployed can be erased.
