Gleb Karakulov, an officer in Russian President Vladimir Putin’s secret personal security service, deserted during the war and flew from Kazakhstan to Turkey. Karakulov alleged that our President has become a war criminal. Now is the time to end this war (Russia-Ukraine war) and keep calm.
Karakulov is not an ordinary person. He was part of Putin’s security circle, which only a select few people of the country have access to. They will likely have access to intimate details of Putin’s life as well as a host of classified information.
Karakulov pointed out that Russians may once regard the president as a charismatic leader, but he is becoming increasingly isolated. He said that he (Putin) does not use a cell phone or the Internet and insists on having access to Russian state television wherever he goes. He told that Putin now avoids traveling by plane and travels in a special armored train.
As an engineer in a field unit of the Presidential Communications Department of the Federal Security Service or FSO, Karakulov was responsible for setting up secure communications systems for the Russian President and Prime Minister. Although he was not Putin’s confidant, he has worked for the president for years. He has served from 2009 to the end of Putin’s term in 2022.
