Northeast monsoon active, rain in southern states, snowfall in northern India

The people of Delhi have no hope of getting respite from the toxic air right now. According to the Meteorological Department, the air quality index in Delhi and NCR is likely to remain in the very poor to severe category and the capital may see a thick blanket of smog.

At the same time, due to the active Northeast Monsoon, rains are continuing in parts of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. Not only this, the weather patterns seem to be changing from Kashmir to Kanyakumari i.e. from North to South India. On one hand it is raining in the states of South India, then on the other hand it is snowing season in hilly states like Himachal including Jammu and Kashmir, while pollution in Delhi has made life miserable for the people. At the same time, chill has started increasing in states like UP and Bihar.

According to the Meteorological Department, many parts of the country including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Puducherry and Karaikal are expected to receive rains even today due to the active northeast monsoon. Not only this, the rains will continue in these areas for the next three-four days. Also, snowfall continues in Ladakh, Jammu-Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh. The Meteorological Department said that there will be snowfall in these areas with light rain and the cold will increase.

The possibility of rain has also been expressed in Uttarakhand and Punjab. Actually, due to the snowfall on the mountains, there is a rapid change in the weather of the plains. A gradual drop in temperature is now being recorded in the areas of North India. From Bihar to UP and Delhi-NCR, people are feeling pink chill in the morning and light fog is also being seen. PLC/GT
