Nominations invited for ‘Jindal Prize’

Sitaram Jindal Foundation had instituted ‘Jindal Prize’ in which five prizes of Rs. one crore each would be awarded every year in the field of Rural Development and Poverty Alleviation, Health, Education, Science, Technology and Environment and Peace, Social Harmony and Development according to a letter written to the State Government by Jindal Prize Secretariat. An independent jury headed by Shri Justice J.S. Verma and comprising of former Chief Justice of India, Shri Sudarshan Aggarwal, former Governor of Uttrakhand and Sikkim as the Vice Chairman, Dr. K. Kasturirangan, Member Planning Commission, reputed journalists Shri H.K. Dua, and Shri B.G. Verghese, Shri L.C. Gupta, former Chief Secretary, Haryana, Dr. Srinath K. Reddy, President, Public Health Foundation of India, Shri Kiran Karnik, former President, NASSCOM, Shri S.L. Bansal, IAS (retd.) as members would select the awardees, said he. Interested and deserving persons and organizations can get nominated for this Award. The last date of receipt of nominations is 30th June, 2011.
