Ekadashi tithi has a lot of importance. The Ekadashi falling in the Shukla Paksha of Jyeshtha month is known as Nirjala Ekadashi. Nirjala Ekadashi is the most important of all Ekadashi. Ekadashi Tithi is very dear to Lord Vishnu. On this day Lord Vishnu is worshiped by law and order. According to the Hindu calendar, Ekadashi falls twice in every month. There are a total of 24 Ekadashis in a year.

When is Nirjala Ekadashi: This year the fast of Nirjala Ekadashi will be observed on June 10, 2022.

Rule: Even water is not consumed during the fast of Nirjala Ekadashi. Water has to be sacrificed on this day.

Fruits: By observing the fast of Nirjala Ekadashi, one gets the fruits of the Ekadashi fast for a year.

Nirjala Ekadashi Puja Method: Wake up early in the morning and retire from bath etc. Light a lamp in the temple of the house. Anoint Lord Vishnu with Ganga water. Offer flowers and Tulsi dal to Lord Vishnu. If possible, fast on this day. Keep it also. Do the aarti of God. Offer food to God. Keep in mind that only sattvik things are offered to God. Tulsi must be included in the Bhog of Lord Vishnu.

It is believed that without Tulsi, Lord Vishnu does not accept the bhog. Along with Lord Vishnu, worship Goddess Lakshmi on this holy day. On this day, meditate more and more on God.
Significance of Nirjala Ekadashi: By observing a fast on this holy day, one gets freedom from all kinds of sins. By observing this fast, all the wishes of a person are fulfilled. According to religious beliefs, keeping the Ekadashi fast leads to salvation after death.

Ekadashi date will start after Jyeshtha Shukla Dashami till 7.27 am on Friday, June 10, 2022. On June 11, 2022, Jyeshtha Shukla Ekadashi on Saturday till 5.46 am, after Dwadashi till 3.24 pm, Trayodashi. Nirjala Ekadashi fasting for all. Dwadashi date decay. Due to reaching Ekadashi date on both 10th and 11th June, the fast can be kept on both the days. However, doing Nirjala Ekadashi fast on Saturday, June 11, would be good and fruitful.
