The new Executive of IMA Chandigarh was elected unanimously and Installed on the World Health Day at IMA Complex, Sector 35, Chandigarh.. Dr. Harminder Singh formerly Director CRI Kasauli and HOD Medical Microbiology PGI Chandigarh has been elected as the President for the year 2013-14. He took over from Dr. Ramneek Singh Bedi, who has been elected as Vice-President of National IMA.Dr. Virender Kappal is the Hony. Secretary. Dr. Nandini Kapoor is the Hony. Finance Secretary, Dr. Neeraj Nagpal, Member CWC, Dr. G.S. Kochar, Alternate CWC member. The three Vice presidents of the 32 strong Executive are Dr. G. Dewan, Dr. B.S. Chavan and Dr. Jasmer SinghIMA is the largest Organization of Doctors in India with more than 2 lac members and isactively involved in issues like Clinical Establishment Act, NCHRH bill, Dissolution of MCI and Bachelor of Rural Health Course in India. IMA Chandigarh is in the process of constructing a modern Auditorium at the IMA Complex and is engaged in regular CMEs for the Doctors.
