Nepali Band wins first season of Indian Band League

The First Season of Indian Band League, a week long online contest for amateur musicians ended today.Flavor of IBL has been so interesting that a Nepali Band won the Critics’ Choice award for best band. Nepali Band – Shruti Dhasmana Ram Nepali ft. Radhey and Lover Broke Band were declared winners in the Critics’ choice and Public choice category respectively.  IBL which made its debut this year saw huge response from the netizens and social media was flooded with the discussion and posts on IBL. This year IBL had 9 bands battling out with their original composed songs for 7 days. Videos of participating bands were uploaded on Musical Dreams’ YouTube channel and were live from 31st may 6 PM to 7th June 6 PM.The band with the  maximum number of views has been declared as winner.   This yearLove Broke Band emerged victorious under people’s choice category and Shruti Dhasmanwas adjudged winner under Critics choice by Judges eminent judges Harish Moyal (Singer/Performer, Indian Idol Season 1 Finalist, BIG STAR IMA Award winner under the category Best Sufi song of the year for his song MERE SAIYAAN) ,Gurdeep Mehndi (Singer, Music Director, Bollywood Actor, Son of Mr. Daler Mehndi) and Priyanka Negi (Finalist of Indian Idol 4, only female singer to win two prestigious awards at ‘Asian Wave’ held in Shanghai, China, Winner of KAFF Awards,2016). IBL is conceptualized by Musical Dreams Academy to provide platform and exposure to budding talented artists and bands.IBL is the chance to discover the talent from all over India to showcase the diversity of music. IBL has been successful to connect you with soulful music composed by Indian bands.

Winner in the popular choice award is Love Broke Band which is a Pop, Rock and Sufi band, the band consists of five members – Mukeem Khan on Vocals, Naushad Khan on Tabla, AftabAlam on Rhythm, Abhishek Sharma – Drums and Shahreyar Hasan on keyboard. Love Broke Band performed song Jugni which received overwhelming response from the audience. Shruti Dhasmana was declared as the winner in the critics’ choice award, her band consisted of three members – Shruti on Vocal and Ukulele, Ram on Guitar, Radhey on Rhythm, and they were declared as winner on the grounds of music arrangement, singing quality and the essence of the song.They performed a Nepali Song which was liked by the jury and was adjudged the best song.

It is the unique concept of an online battle where 10 top bands from more than 100 entries were shortlisted to battle out for the Final leg. Major attraction of this league was that these bands performedthe songs originally composed by them. Each band performed in their own style like Sufi, Rock, Fusion, Hindi, English, Nepali, Choir and other style.
