NDMC team will make all sincere efforts

All stakeholders of New Delhi area to work as one team to achieve the first rank in Swachh Survekshan-2020 :  Chairman NDMC

“All stakeholders to work as one team to achieve the number one rank in Swachh Survekshan- 2020. The prime responsibility of cleanliness and sanitation is vested in the civic body with the active support of every citizen and other individual as well as visitors to the city. Therefore collective efforts of civic body, RWAs, MTAs, NGOs are required to achieve the targeted scores so as to be at the first rank in Swachh Survekshan -2020.”  

 This was observed by the Chairman, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), Shri Dharmendra after inaugurating the workshop for Swachh Survekshan-2020 for representatives of RWAs, MTAs, JJ Clusters and other NGOs at NDMC Convention Centre in New Delhi today.

It was emphasized by Chairman, NDMC that segregation of waste at source is a primary effort by individual citizens which can so long was to make the city garbage free. He further said that single use plastic must be avoided at every level to sustain our ecological balance and make environmental friendly surroundings.

He hoped that NDMC team will make all sincere efforts with the co-operation of the citizen as well as visitors of New Delhi area to achieve the targeted score as per the parameters and indicators of Swachh Survekshan – 2020.

Dr.Rashmi Singh, Secretary- NDMC informed the aim and objective of the workshop so as to bring clarity on new parameters and indicators prescribed in Swachh Survekshan-2020. She emphasized on need for co-ordination of all stakeholders to meet the challenge. She stressed upon behavioral changes for sustainable cleanliness and sanitation.

On the occasion, Shri Anil Prakash and Ms.Sharddha, Member of the Swachh Survekshan team from Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India also interacted with the representative of RWAs, MTAs, JJ Clusters, officers and official of NDMC. These experts explained the question of forthcoming Swachh Survekshan-2020 about cleanliness level of neighborhood, commercial / public area, public and community toilets, city road dividers and road covered by plants, ODF and Garbage free efforts of the city.

Medical Officer of Health – NDMC, Dr.Ramesh, Sr-CMO, Dr.R.N.Singh, CMO(Projects) – Dr.Shakuntala, Advisor Health- Dr.P.K.Sharma, Chief Engineer (Civil)- Shri Sanjay Gupta, Director(Enforcement), Shri V.K.Gautam were also present on this occasion.
