Representing these organisations, the members pointed the inequality and the gender bias that is being done by the National Commission of Women and the Women Cell.

The liberalization is not destroying families.

Manjit Puri coordinator of Andhra Pradesh Mothers-in-law Protection Association (APMPA), Chandigarh Chapter, said, “Woman Empowerment is not meant to misuse the women’s power, rather it is use the women’s power in an effective way. The way the laws are being misused, the day is not far when men will stop marrying”.

“The NATIONAL COMMISSION OF WOMAN should be named as Daughter-In-Law Commission. The commission is ready to back the Daughter-In-Law, while total ignorance is paid to the mother-in-laws. Even the women cell is useless. Are we not women”, she added.

Jaswinder Kaur represented All India Forgotten Women’s Association (AIFWA), and said, “ Why the sisters are ignored. Are we criminals or what”.

Indu stood for True Equity Network (TEN) India.

A month back, these organisation posted letters to the president of the National Commission of Women but till date no correspondent has been received from the commission. The mother-in-laws and sister-in-laws representing the organisation urge the NCW to change the name of the commission to National Commission of Daughter-in-laws.
