Name of Khizrabad would be changed to Pratap Nagar: Manohar Lal

The Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal, has said that the state government is in constant touch with the Central Government for the construction of a highway along the Yamuna river from Delhi to Paonta Sahib. Talks are also being held with the Uttar Pradesh Government regarding widening of the bridge over river Yamuna in Karnal and Yamunanagar districts.

He disclosed this while interacting with media persons in Yamunanagar today.

In reply to a question, the Chief Minister clarified that the damage done to the property in the wake of the CBI court verdict in Dera chief’s case would be compensated from the property of Dera Sacha Sauda.

He said the name of Khizrabad would be changed to Pratap Nagar and for this, first, the gram panchayat would send a proposal to the state government. Listing the cleanliness programmes undertaken by him, Mr Manohar Lal said concrete steps would be taken to ensure cleanliness in the Municipal Corporation area for which modern equipment would be made available.

To achieve this objective, a sum of Rs 10 crore would be provided to Yamunanagar-Jagadhri Municipal Corporation, and an Open Air Stadium would be constructed in Tejali Sports Stadium, Yamunanagar.

Janta Darbars would be organised for redress of public grievances in all districts of the state this year. So far, Darbar has been organised in 11 districts and Yamunanagar is the 12th district to hold one. The remaining districts would be covered in the next three months, he added.
