Mumbai celebrates Cotton with COTTONSCAPE 2012

In the sweltering heat of Mumbai the delight to the eyes was the beautiful ensemble of cotton brought forth by Fashion Show CottonScape 2012, the aim of which was to showcase innovation in cotton design and application. Designer Rina Dhaka and Anita Dongre along with Designer Brand Provogue presented their cotton collection for the summer. The show was opened by Anita Dongre’s collection followed by Spring summer 2012 collection preview of Provogue and the last show was put up by Rina Dhaka. In between the shows the awards to the patrons of cotton were given. Cricketer Harbhajan Singh’s heart stopperGeeta Basra was the celebrity show stopper for Provogue along with Tv star Rakesh Bapat. Rakesh was seen in a casual yet formal attire of denim jeans over a white t-shirt matched up well with grey suit while Geeta dazzled in black top and  white denim shorts. Jiyah Khan walked the ramp for Rina Dhaka.

Present for the night were the sparkles of film industry like Rangeela girlUrmila MatondkarSangeeta Bijlani and many more TV celebrities. Sangeeta was seen in a grey floral gown and Urmila wore a red short dress. The fashion fraternity’s Designers Masaba GuptaRahul MishraNarendra Kumar, Hemant Sagar and Didier Lecoanetwere awarded for their achievements in the fashion world. Along with them Provogue’s Akhil Chaturvedi, Designer Nandita Mehtani, Venus’s Champak Jain, Cotton council International(CCI)’s Programming Head Agnieszka Fijol and Sachit Bhatia.

The show was followed by cocktail dinner and saw presence of Page 3 celebrities as well. Dressed in sexy shimmering outfits female crowd braced the male crowd who looked pretty decent in their usual formal evening attires.
