In a major success, the Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested accused Amandeep Singh Multani, a resident of Mohali and accused Gokul Setia , a resident of Panchkula. Both were wanted by the local police since long.

The UT police today acted on a secret information that accused Amandeep Singh Multani and Gokul Setia were seen near the skating ring, Sector-10.

A joint team of Crime Branch and Police Station, Sector 10 were constituted under the supervision of DSP/Crime who manged to catch hold of both the accused.

Accused Amandeep Singh Multani was wanted in case FIR No.143 under section 25/27/54/59 of the Arms Act and in FIR No. 142 under section 147,148,149,323,506,427 of the IPC.

Amandeep Singh Multani was also involved in four different cases of quarrel, hurt and attempt to murder, of which two stands register in Mohali and two at Chandigarh.

In another incident the Chandigarh police launched a special drive in which, special Nakas and night patrolling were also deployed.

Working on special strategies, a team of Crime Branch lead by SI Pardeep Kumar arrested three persons indulge. On April 28, 2010 the police had arrested accused Nand Lal @ Badshah, Ravi @ Padu and Suraj @ Ganju all residents of Ramdarbar. During the interrogation the accused confessed about the burglaries committed by them in Ramdarbar, Manimajra, Maloya, Sector-26, Sector-20, Sector-27, Chandigarh. The police has recovered 300 gm gold ornaments, 500 gm sliver ornaments, four gas cylinder and a DVD player from the possession of accused persons..
