Mount Litera Zee School flags-off the ‘Torch of Learning’ in Punjab

Mount Litera Zee School’s ‘Torch of Learning’, talks about an innovative approach towards education development in India. The ‘Torch of Learning’ will travel across India for over 3 months to spread the message of inclusive education.  Shri. Parkash Singh Badal, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Punjab, flagged off the bus from Bathinda.  The bus has a demo classroom, to give a unique experience to students, parents and educators, about the ideal classroom setting as per each students learning style.  Shri. Parkash Singh Badal, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Punjab said, “Zee Learn through their schools Mount Litera Zee School have started a noble concept. I wish them a great success for this initiative”. Mr. Pradeep Pillai, Business Head, Kidzee and Mount Litera Zee School, said, “Worldwide in K-12 education, access to  education is followed by enhancement in the quality. We feel that the time is just right for a substantial impetus to improve its human capital. Quality education at the early childhood and school level is imperative because these are the foundational years. Already operating with 7 schools in Punjab and Haryana, Mount Litera Zee School plans to play an integral role in this endeavor and will set up 21 Schools in Punjab and Haryana by the end of 2014.” At Mount Litera Zee School, the learning experience extends beyond the classroom; into the outdoor and common areas as well, by transforming them into learning spaces. In the school, the child spends the majority of his time in the classroom and hence the experience within the classroom is most distinct. The classroom has been completely designed around the child and her developmental requirements. The demo classroom will showcase a typical classroom in Mount Litera Zee School. The parents will get an opportunity to sit through a classroom session and experience how a classroom can contribute towards creating future leaders of the country. The bus will be traveling across 35 cities in India to create awareness about different styles of learning.  Hon’ble Education Minister Sikandar Singh Maluka, Punjab, said “We want similar kind of education delivery in Punjab where competency of teacher will not be a hurdle in delivering world class content. I want Zee Learn to help us in achieving this”.Elaborating on the concept of ‘Torch of Learning’ Mr. Navneet Anhal, Chief Operating Officer, Zee Learn said, “Our young population is a dividend for the country and we aim to harness their talent. According to research on learning, every individual has a different style of learning, and it is this awareness that we wish to create across the country. The pan-India journey of the bus will certainly help reach the message of unique learning styles to large number of students, parents and education professionals”.
