Motor Fest organized at DLF Gardencity

Saturday night came alive for the residents of New Gurgaon with roaring cars, bikes, music and food.Speed Sprint, a gala motor fest was held on 30th April at DLF’s township DLF Gardencity. Rallyist, Motor enthusiast and DLF Gardencity residents turned up in huge numbers to participate in the Motor Fest.The Fest kicked off with Speed Sprint XV, a single stage sprint rally that saw the crowd cheering with tremendous fervor.A 4-kms stretch of tarmac road set the stage for the races of four-wheelers and two-wheelers. The three categories namely,Zip, Zap and Zoom were for the novice car drivers, experienced drivers and bikers respectively.Total 154 races were conducted under this fest and more than 100 people participated in the same.

  • Achintya Mehrotra

The other main attractions, Quad drives and paintball shooting also received enthusiastic participation especially from children.Various eatable stalls had been lined up and people were seen relishing the sumptuous cuisine as well as mouth- watering street food. In fact, trendy food trucks serving wraps and frozen desserts were major crowd-pullers.The evening wrapped up with the performance of a live band which belted out popular songs. As the mesmerized crowd swayed to the music, ‘Motor Fest’ concluded on a melodious note.

Mr. Sourav Ray, a resident of (NTH91) DLF Gardencity said, ‘We are delighted that ‘Motor Fest’ was held at DLF Gardencity. It was a fun-filled evening for the whole family since there were activities for all age groups. The children enjoyed the Quad drives as well as shooting paintball with their friends. Personally, I was very keen to participate in the Motor racing and it turned out to be a fascinating experience. The live music and delicious food made the evening even more memorable. We are eagerly looking forward to such events being organized at DLF Gardencity’.

Commenting on the ‘Motor Fest’, Col. Tejbir Singh, General Manager (Township), DLF said, ‘It has always been our endeavour to encourage social, cultural as well as sports activities at our township DLF Gardencity. The Motor Fest was organized to reinvigorate the residents and give them an opportunity to indulge in motor sports. The main attractions of the fest included Motor racing, Quad drives and paintball shooting. In addition to the scrumptious food and live music, various activities were arranged to make the event appealing for everyone. We are extremely glad that residents came in large numbers to participate in the Motor Fest. With over 850 families currently residing at DLF Gardencity, it is truly a joy to spend the weekend together’.
